The students got acquainted with the peculiarities of journalism in the USA

On February 13, an open seminar was held at the Kazakh National University with 2nd-year students of the specialty "6B03202-International Journalism" within the framework of pedagogical practice by a 1st-year undergraduate of the specialty "7M03203-International Journalism" of the Faculty of Journalism Makhanov Asylan Zhenisovich with the participation of the Doctor of Philology, Associate Professor Altayeva A.K. and Teacher Shegebaev A.S. The topic of the seminar is "Owners of the world's media. Features of US journalism". At the beginning of the lesson, students took part in an interactive game and refreshed their thoughts. Later, it was told about the world's media, the participants of the seminar were presented with statistical data and examples. The students told what global sources of information they know. Many of them read publications such as the BBC, CNN, USA Today. Information was provided on how American journalists use new technologies, media monetization, and the development of industry journalism. Students actively participated in the classes, asked questions, and expressed thoughts on the topic.
