Educational needs for public health programs from the perspective of global health and local issues

As part of cooperation with the University of Tsukuba (Japan), on March 13, 2024, Associate Professor of the Department of Epidemiology, Biostatistics and Evidence-Based Medicine, Candidate of Medical Sciences, Ussatayeva G.M. read a lecture to Japanese and Kazakh students on the topic “Educational needs for public health programs from the perspective of global health and local issues”. On the base of analysis of existing programs and experience in teaching public health the lecturer demonstrated needs to regularly review and supplement programs taking into account climate, health, economic and political changes in the world. It is important to take into account the opinions of employers, develop interdisciplinary programs, use active and hybrid learning methods, help students to learn practical skills, and develop learning throughout the life.
