THE SCIENTIFIC AND PRACTICAL CONFERENCE OF YOUNG SCIENTISTS AND STUDENTS “FARABI ALEMI” COMPLETED ITS WORK AT THE FACULTY OF ORIENTAL STUDIES

On April 4, 2024, the annual international scientific and practical conference of students and young scientists “Farabi Alemi” was held at the Faculty of Oriental Studies of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.

The dean of the Faculty of Oriental Studies, candidate of historical sciences, associate professor Yem N.B. addressed the conference participants with a welcoming speech. In her address, Natalya Borisovna noted the importance of preserving the legacy of al-Farabi, demonstrating knowledge by students and increasing the experience of scientific presentations. The dean also noted the importance of taking the first scientific steps by participating in conferences like “Farabi Alemi”, which provide unique opportunities to test own abilities, skills and strengths.

Students, master's students, doctoral students and young scientists from Kazakhstan, Russia and China took part in the conference. The reports examined pressing and topical issues of Oriental science. During the presentations, articles of a theoretical, practical and applied nature in various fields of Oriental studies were presented in the following sections:

1. Politics and economics of the countries of the East.

2. History and culture of eastern countries

3. Current problems of oriental languages and literature

4. Society and religion of eastern countries

5. Countries of the East in the foreign policy of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

During the conference, members of the commission noted the high level of preparation of the participants. The fight for prizes was very intense. The commission assessed important criteria of scientific works, such as novelty, practical and theoretical significance, and relevance of the work. The conference ended with the ceremonial awarding of certificates to participants and honorary diplomas to the winners.
