STUDENTS AND TEACHERS OF TURKSOY DEPARTMENT ACTIVELY TOOK PART IN THE OPEN DAY EVENT

On April 11, 2024, the Faculty of Oriental Studies of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University organized Open Day to conduct career guidance for high school students and gymnasiums and college students of the Republic of Kazakhstan and present information about educational programs taught at the Faculty of Oriental Studies.

Senior students of secondary schools and gymnasiums and their class teachers, college students and teachers, parents, and guests from the Consulates took part in the "Open Door Day" event.

The "Open Day" event was opened by the dean of the Faculty of Oriental Studies Natalya Borisovna Em. The dean made a speech about the educational programmes at the faculty and plans for the future. Afterwards, the faculty staff informed the guests about the educational programmes, admission requirements, and student life of the faculty.

The head of Turksoy Department Kenzhebek Tulepbergenovich Gabdullin told about the advantages of the educational programmes of Turksoy Department, partner universities, international relations, and employment opportunities for graduates.

In the framework of the "Open Day" event, the "Festival of Oriental Culture" was organized to introduce schoolchildren and guests the culture of the studied countries of the East. The students of the faculty sang songs in different Eastern languages, recited poems, and danced national dances.

          2nd-year student of the specialty "Foreign Philology" of Turksoy Department Abilmajin Begimai read the poem "I'm Listening to Istanbul" by the famous Turkish poet Orhan Veli in Turkish and won hearts of the guests.  At the fashion show of national costumes of the Eastern people, 2nd -year student of the specialty "Oriental Studies" Kartanbai Nuray and 1st-year students presented the national costumes of the Turkish people.

At the Fair of Oriental Cuisine, 2nd -year student of the specialty "Foreign Philology" Rahilyam Asimova presented Turkish national meals and sweets, and 1st-year students offered Turkish sweets to the schoolchildren and guests.
