Acquaintance of 1st year students of the Department of Cartography and Geoinformatics with the library of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University

      As part of the orientation week of the 2024-2025 academic year, on August 27, students of the 1st year of the educational programs "Cartography and Geodesy", "Geoinformatics", "Natural and Technogenic Risks" got acquainted with the al-Farabi library. During the familiarization, students received a lot of useful information about the structure of the library and the proper use of information resources. In addition, in the "subscriptions" section, they received information about receiving books. We got acquainted with classical and electronic reading rooms, listened to brief explanations from employees about ethical standards and behavioral trends in the library.

      The life of Abu Nasr al-Farabi, his research in the field of science and education were tracked by students in the library museum using 3D technologies and received new information.

      The Al-Farabi Library is an institution with the largest book collection among higher educational institutions in Central Asia. To date, the library's collection has more than 2 million books.

      The library has all the conditions for students. Along with subscription and warm reading rooms, there are conference rooms and an electronic department. All equipment meets modern requirements. A student visiting here can check the availability of the book he is looking for through a computer in just a few minutes.

        As part of the familiarization with the Al-Farabi library, the students showed interest and received answers to many questions.
