On September 9, 2024, students of the Faculty of International Relations of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University took part in a meeting of the UN Discussion Club Almaty at the UN Plaza.
During the event, the issues of the club's activities and the basic principles and directions of the club's activities for the current year were discussed.
The agenda of the meeting also covered the implementation of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals and the upcoming Summit of the Future on September 20-23, 2024.
The meeting was attended by Vlastimil Samek, representative of the UN Department of Global Communications in Almaty, Adlet Kumar, founder of GANI Networking and the @diplomatika_ channel, as well as Leila Delovarova, director of the Academic Regional Resource Center for Information support about the UN at the Faculty of International Relations of al-Farabi KazNU.
Delovarova L.F. noted that the main goal in this context is Goal 17: Strengthening the means of implementation and intensifying work within the framework of the Global Partnership for Sustainable Development.
In their speeches, students highlighted the importance of the younger generation’s role in implementing the global agenda and suggested preparing creative informational content for International Day of Peace, to be shared on social media to raise youth awareness.
