Mountaineering competition to conquer the Kumbel peak

On September 29, on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and the International Tourism Day, volunteers of the faculty held a mountaineering competition to conquer the Kumbel peak (3200 m) in the Zailiysky Alatau. This event was organized by the Department of Recreational Geography and Tourism of the Faculty of Geography and Nature Science, together with the “Burevestnik” mountaineering club.

A total of 45 students climbed to the top, all participants were awarded the conqueror badge "Kumbel-2024".

This event was organized within the framework of achieving the Sustainable Development Goals: 3 – good health and well-being; 5 – quality education.
