SDG-5: A scientific seminar on «Gender equality as a value of law» was held

On October 9, the Faculty of Law at our university hosted a scientific seminar titled «Gender Equality as a Value of Law». Organized by the Department of Customs, Finance, and Environmental Law, the seminar brought together faculty, students, and experts to discuss the critical issue of gender equality.

The event featured several notable participants, including the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Associate Professor Ualikhan Akypbekuly Akhatov, the head of the Department of Customs, Finance, and Environmental Law, Professor Guldana Amangeldiovna Kuanalieva, and the Director of the Law Clinic, Darkhan Abdimanapuli Bakirov. Special guests included Lyazzat Rakisheva Bekmukhanbetovna, President of «Human Rights Lawyers» and coordinator of the One-Stop-Service Center, and Zhenisgul Zhaparkhanovna Khabaeva, a practicing psychologist and member of the Kazakh Psychologists' Union.

Dean Ualikhan Akypbekuly Akhatov opened the seminar with a speech on the importance of gender policy within the framework of the TDM and emphasized the significance of women's rights and societal respect for them. Following this, Professor Guldana Amangeldyovna Kuanalieva discussed ongoing reforms in Kazakhstan aimed at ensuring gender equality, highlighting the vital role that women's rights play in building a civilized society.

The seminar provided a platform for students to actively engage, as they posed thought-provoking questions and received insightful responses from the speakers. Many students also voiced their opinions on the necessity of gender equality in the establishment of a legal state and stressed that respect for women strengthens the confidence of young people in the future of the country.

The seminar successfully emphasized the critical value of gender equality in both law and society, fostering meaningful dialogue on this essential topic.
