"Declaration of State Sovereignty – the most important foundation of the statehood of the Republic of Kazakhstan"

On October 17, 2024, at the Faculty of Law of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, a teacher of the Department of Theory and History of State and Law, Constitutional and Administrative Law, Doctor of Law Baymakhanova, D.M., held a curatorial hour on the topic: "Declaration of State Sovereignty – the most important foundation of the statehood of the Republic of Kazakhstan", dedicated to the Republic Day. The curatorial hour was attended by leading teachers of the department and Candidate of Law Isabekov A.K., Ph.D. Mynbatyrova N.K., Kegembayeva Zh.A. and Darkhanova S. The theme of the curatorial hour corresponded to SDG 16 “Peace, justice and effective institutions”. The speaker was the lecturer of the department, D.M. Baymakhanova, who in her speech noted the importance of the Declaration on State Sovereignty as the basis for the effective, progressive development of the New Kazakhstan. 
 Also, the speakers at the event were students-members of the student club “Amanat". In their speeches, the speakers noted such basic provisions of the Declaration as the recognition of Kazakhstan as a fully sovereign state, which can enter into international legal relations with other states, has all the characteristics of a sovereign state.  
Summing up the speeches, Merekeuly N. indicated that the Declaration, together with the Constitutional Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On Independence", are acts that for the first time consolidated the sovereignty and independence of Kazakhstan.
