On October 17-18, the international CONNECTED-2024 conference, dedicated to envisioning the future, took place in Astana. The event gathered around 1,500 delegates from more than 20 countries.

The conference program was organized around three key areas: "Future Shaping," "Future Education & Science," and "EdTech and Impact Entrepreneurship." During the conference, participants shared relevant solutions for advancing education and science, discussed innovative approaches, and explored opportunities for effective learning in a rapidly changing world.

A highlight of the conference was the award ceremony recognizing students, teachers, and university representatives who achieved excellent results on the Coursera platform. Under the agreement between Al-Farabi Kazakh National University (KazNU) and Coursera, 31 students from the Faculty of Oriental Studies participated in the Coursera for Campus program from May to August 2024. Among them, 2nd-year student Indira Erbolkyzy Algaziyeva, from the Department of Far Eastern Studies, majoring in Oriental Studies, was named one of the top-performing students and was awarded a certificate. Since the student is currently studying under an academic mobility program at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies in the Republic of Korea, the award ceremony was attended by A.B. Abagan, Head of the Department of Far Eastern Studies.

This achievement demonstrates the university's leadership in digital education and its commitment to integrating modern technologies into the learning process. We express our gratitude to the Academic and Digital Innovations Office of Department of Academic Affairs at Al-Farabi KazNU for their organizational and methodological support of students learning on the Coursera platform, as well as for implementing digital educational initiatives that enhance the quality of educational programs and foster readiness for modern innovations.
