
On October 22, 2024, the 1st year students of the Department of "Foreign Philology and Translation" of the Philological Faculty of Farabi Kazakh National University held a thematic event called "National Value" within the framework of SDG 16 "Peace, justice and effective institutions".
The purpose of the event was to foster respect for cultural diversity among students, promote the development of fair and peaceful public relations, as well as strengthen responsibility for building a more stable and just world. During discussions and presentations, the students considered the importance of national values for the formation of identity, cultural tolerance and respect for the traditions of different peoples.
The participants presented their works dedicated to national traditions, language and culture. Each student shared his vision of what can be considered a national value, emphasizing the importance of preserving cultural heritage. The event was accompanied by lively discussions, presentations, as well as interactive tasks, which allowed students not only to be creative, but also to improve their language skills.
The event also touched upon issues of justice and equity, emphasizing the need for transparent and effective institutions for sustainable development. The students discussed how cultural heritage and national values can serve as a basis for strengthening social cohesion and building strong public institutions.
