A curator's hour honoring Republic Day was hosted at the Department of Chinese studies as part of the SDG "Quality Education"
On October 24, 2024, the advisor of the Department of Chinese studies, Asel Bisenbayeva, together with 4th year students, held a curator’s hour dedicated to Republic Day on the topic: "The Features of Celebrating Republic Day in Kazakhstan and China."
During the event, Kazakh and Chinese students presented videos and photos showcasing the traditions of celebrating this day in their respective countries.
Republic Day is a significant date in the history of Kazakhstan. On October 25, 1990, the Supreme Council of the Kazakh SSR adopted the Declaration of Sovereignty, the first legal document of independent Kazakhstan. This day marked the beginning of the country's journey to independence and the formation of its statehood. Today, we proudly celebrate Kazakhstan's achievements in political, economic, and international spheres.
In China, Republic Day is celebrated on October 1 and is the main national holiday. On October 1, 1949, the People's Republic of China (PRC) was declared, which was recognized by the international community as the sole legitimate representative of China on the global stage.
During the curator’s hour, students shared interesting facts about the traditions of their countries, asked each other questions, and concluded the event with a group photo to commemorate the occasion.
