On October 17, 2024, at the Faculty of Law of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, in auditorium 401, as part of an event dedicated to the National Holiday Republic Day, an Open dialogue meeting was held on the topic: "Protection of the rights of minors under the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan", with the participation of 2nd year students and lawyer of the Almaty Regional Bar Association Syzdykova Sholpan Satybaldievna.

With numerous examples from her extensive law practice, Sholpan Satybaldievna elaborated on the cases that she often encounters in the course of advocacy in the field of protecting the rights of minors. Current legislation obliges parents to support their minor children. So, if parents voluntarily do not provide funds for the maintenance of their minor children, as well as adult children who study at a college or university full-time at the age of twenty-one, these funds are recovered from them in court. Able-bodied adult children are also responsible for the maintenance of their parents. The issues of the lawyer's participation in the performance of alimony obligations, the procedure for determining the place of residence of children after the parents' divorce, as well as the duties of parents in raising children and the right to communicate with him after the dissolution of marriage were disclosed in detail.

During the open dialogue about the professional skills of a lawyer, students were identified and identified not only the guidelines for studying at the university, but also the importance of constantly improving their practical skills during their studies. The issues of the role and importance of knowledge of compulsory disciplines such as civil law and civil procedure law in the practice of law were also highlighted.

In general, this event aroused wide and lively interest among students who expressed a desire to meet with practicing lawyers more often.
