WATER RESOURCES AND THEIR PROTECTION FOR THE LOCAL POPULATION

Senior lecturer of the Department of Customs, Financial and Environmental Law PhD M.K. Nakisheva Conducted an online scientific seminar with 1st year of the Master’s degree on the topic: Water resources and their protection for the local population of the implementation of SDG Goal 6. The following issues were discussed at the scientific seminar:
- Water shortage. Kazakhstan is experiencing water shortages, especially in the southern parts of the country, where most of the agricultural land is located. 
- Water pollution. Industrial enterprises, agriculture and household waste contribute to the pollution of reservoirs. This leads to a deterioration in water quality. 
- Transboundary rivers. 
To solve the problems of water resources in Kazakhstan, measures are being taken at the level of the state, international organizations and local governments. 
The scientific seminar was informative and interesting for 1st year of the Master’s degree.
