Al-Farabi Kazakh National University continues to strengthen international ties by signing cooperation memorandums with TURKSOY, Almaty Creative, the Foundation of Turkic Culture and Heritage, and several other organizations at both the international and national levels. These agreements open opportunities for joint projects aimed at achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with a particular focus on education, economic growth, and sustainable development.
In our Department of Economics, meetings were held with representatives of Almaty Creative as part of one of these memorandums. This collaboration is part of the master's program in "Creative Economy," which aligns with SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) and SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure). The program aims to develop the creative economy, create jobs, and support innovative startups, which are crucial for sustainable socio-economic progress in the country.
The projects being implemented within these memorandums are also closely linked to SDG 4 (Quality Education) by enhancing access to knowledge on the creative industry, as well as SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), as creative industries play a significant role in building sustainable and prosperous cities
Such initiatives by KazNU confirm the university’s commitment to achieving the SDGs through education and international cooperation, creating a platform for training highly qualified specialists who can contribute to sustainable societal development.
