On October 21, 2024, a curatorial hour was held in the 102 group of the first year of the Faculty of Law. This event is dedicated to the celebration of the Republic Day. October 25 has been declared a National holiday – Republic Day. This circumstance was fixed in Article 2 of the Law "On Public Holidays".
On October 25, 1990, the Supreme Council, the highest representative body, adopted a historic document – the Declaration of State Sovereignty. The Declaration consolidated Kazakhstan's sovereignty for the first time.
The Declaration proclaimed the idea that the Republic of Kazakhstan acts as an independent subject of international relations, determine foreign policy in its own interests and independently resolve issues of foreign economic activity.
Doctor of Law, Professor Kenzhaliev Z.Zh. stressed that this document is the legal basis for subsequent constitutional acts, in which the sovereign development of Kazakhstan was legally formalized.
