On September 13, 2024, within the framework of the implementation of SDG 11:" ensuring transparency, security, viability and environmental sustainability of cities and settlements", students of the 3rd year of the Lex Discussion Club held a discussion on the topic" benefits of the construction of nuclear power plants in the Republic of Kazakhstan". Students actively discussed the topical aspects of issues related to the construction of a nuclear power plant, the economic, environmental and political consequences and risks of this project. Some argued the need to introduce nuclear power as an important step for the country's economic and energy growth, while others expressed concern about the potential risks.
The experts of the debate were teachers of the Department of international law PhD Nysanbekova L. B. and Tusupova A. zh., Ph. D. The best student speaker Yerzhan Aruzhan was selected by open voting.
