M. AUEZOV LITERARY ASSOCIATION RESUMED ITS WORK

On October 22, 2024, a literary and educational evening «Abai and Auezov» was organized by the M.AUEZOV LITERARY ASSOCIATION, which resumed its work on the basis of the Abai Research Institute. The opening speech was delivered by the director of the Abai Research Institute, Doctor of Philological Sciences, Professor Zhangara Dadebayev, who introduced the guests and student participants to the history of the association and wished the event a success. The  guests of the literary and educational evening were  Candidate of Philological Sciences, senior lecturer Sovetkhan Tleubayev, Senior Adviser of the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics, Associate Professor Bolat Abenov, senior adviser of the Faculty of Medicine and Healthcare Gulbanu Arinova, senior adviser of the Faculty of Philology, senior lecturer Shokan Shortanbayev who  wished further creative success to the literary association.

The 1st year students of the Faculty of Philology recited the poems of the great Abai and poems from their own work, and also staged a scene based on the chapter “Return” of the epic novel “The Way of Abai”. The choir performed the song “The pupil of my eyes”, read excerpts of monologues from Mukhtar Auezov’s “Gallery of Women”, read Abai's poems translated to other languages, and students of the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics played on dombra the kui “Yerke sylqym”.

The evening was summed up by the leading researcher of the Abai Research Institute, acting Professor Toregeldy Tuyakbay and Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor Layla Musala with closing remarks and thanks to the participants of the evening. The literary and educational evening revealed the harmony of the creative heritage of two great Kazakh creators Abai Kunanbayev and Mukhtar Auezov, and also increased the literary and cognitive knowledge of the younger generation.
The revival of the literary association, which began its work in May 1941 under the leadership of the great writer, will become the basis for striving for new milestones, creative and cognitive development of students who are passionate about literature. This is a noble cause that will make a great contribution to the prosperity of not only Kazakh literature, but also national spirituality!
