Information on the Results of the Competition for the Election of Academicians of the NAS of the Republic of Kazakhstan under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan

November 21, 2024, marked a significant date for Kazakhstan's scientific community. Professor Aidarkhan Kaltaev, from the Department of Mechanics, was honored with the prestigious title of Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The decision to confer this title was made by the General Assembly of Academicians of the National Academy of Sciences under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The selection process was conducted in strict accordance with the approved Rules for Electing Academicians, emphasizing the high standards required of the candidates.

Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor Aidarkhan Kaltaev was elected as a full member—Academician—under the Section of Science "Earth, Space, and Communications" (specializations: "Natural Sciences" and "Engineering and Technology").

Aidarkhan Kaltaev is a leading Kazakhstani scientist in the field of fluid and gas mechanics. His research and innovations are highly regarded not only in Kazakhstan but also internationally.

Highlights of his scientific achievements include:

  • Fellow of the Ministry of Education and Research of Germany (BMBF, 1995–2000).
  • Fellow of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD, 2004, 2008).
  • Member of the National Council on Science and Technology under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
