Lecture by Normund Rudzitis: Important issues of modern customs and tax regulation

On November 27, 2024, a lecture and a meeting with Normund Rudzitis, Director of the Bachelor's Program in Customs and Tax Administration at Riga Technical University, took place at the Faculty of Law of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
As part of the implementation of the UN Sustainable Development Goals, in particular SDG 17, aimed at developing a global partnership for sustainable development, Normund Rudzitis held a leadership lecture on topical issues in the field of customs and tax regulation. The event brought together students, teachers and legal experts interested in the problems of modern global economic and environmental regulation.
In his lecture, Normund Rudzitis noted that modern challenges in the field of customs and tax regulation require deep training from specialists and the ability to quickly adapt to changes in the global economy and international law.
After the lecture, Normund Rudzitis held a meeting with teachers and researchers of the Department of Customs, Financial and Environmental Law of KazNU. During the conversation, the prospects of scientific and educational cooperation between Riga Technical University and KazNU were discussed.
One of the key topics was the expansion of academic mobility, as well as the possibility of developing joint research projects in the field of sustainable development, taxation and international law. The parties agreed to further deepen cooperation, organize joint conferences and internships for students. This will allow KazNU students to get acquainted with the best international practices in the field of customs administration and tax policy.
Normund Rudzitis' visit to Almaty was a significant step in strengthening scientific and educational ties between Riga Technical University and KazNU.
This event was a vivid example of how international cooperation and knowledge sharing can help solve the urgent problems facing the modern global economy and environmental security.
