On November 23, 2024, 1st year master's student Samatov Arman held a meeting at the Department of Physical Education and Sports with 1st and 2nd year students of the specialties "Physical Culture and Sports" within the framework of the SDG program dedicated to goal No. 6 - "Clean Water and Sanitation."
At the meeting, participants discussed key aspects of this goal, comparing it with global challenges related to access to clean water and effective sanitation. Particular attention was paid to the reasonable consumption of water resources, the importance of proper treatment of wastewater and the prevention of their discharge into open water bodies. As an illustration of the problem, photo materials were presented showing the reduction of glaciers in Kazakhstan, which serves as a clear example of climate change and its impact on water resources.
Students actively participated in the discussion, offering ways to optimize water consumption and the manifestation of an active civil position in the protection of water resources. They also discussed possible initiatives to raise public awareness of the importance of clean water and sanitation.
