Associate Professor of the Department of Chinese Studies D.B. Dauyen took part in the International Forum on History and Civilization
From November 27 to 30, 2024, Associate Professor of the Department of Chinese Studies D.B. Dauyen took part in the International Forum on History and Civilization at the invitation of the University of Hong Kong. The forum brought together more than 40 Chinese and foreign scholars in Chinese studies to discuss the symbiosis of civilizations in a changing world. The participants included professors from top universities in the world such as Harvard University, Stanford, Princeton, Yale University, University of California, Berkeley, Fudan University, and Peking University.
On the first day of the forum, a number of experts and scholars made presentations on topics such as "Modernization in Chinese Style: Marxism and Confucianism" and "Modern Civilization of the Chinese Nation" and "Global Governance". On the second day of the forum, two sub-forums were held, where experts and scholars discussed two topics: "Era and Civilization" and "Exchange and Mutual Learning". The forum is an academic platform for dialogue among civilizations, created by the History and Civilization Research Base, jointly established by the University of Hong Kong, Peking University and the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. The History and Civilization Research Base is under the management of the China Institutional Research Center of the University of Hong Kong, and aims to explore new frontiers in history and civilization research.
