The Department of Chinese studies at KazNU Establishes Collaboration with the New Department at Abai KazNPU as Part of the SDG "Partnerships for the Sustainable Goals"

On November 27, 2024, Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University held a ceremonial opening of the new Department of "Chinese Language and Chinese studies." The event was attended by the Head of the Department of Chinese studies at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Erzhan Abdraimovich Kerimbaev, along with faculty members, Chinese scholars, representatives of the Consulate General of the PRC in Almaty, and educators from various institutions across the country.

The Rector of KazNPU, Bolat Anapiyevich Tlep, welcomed the guests and emphasized the significance of establishing the new department for advancing linguistic and cultural cooperation. Chinese language instruction, previously conducted under the Department of Eastern Philology and Translation, has now been organized into an independent department, reflecting the growing interest in Chinese language and culture studies.

As part of the event, a state-of-the-art language lab was introduced, equipped with cutting-edge technology sponsored by Feihua, an international educational technology company based in Beijing. Attendees extended their best wishes for the department's success, highlighting its crucial role in fostering educational and cultural collaboration between Kazakhstan and China.
