We sincerely thank you for organizing this important and significant event - the 90th anniversary of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, as well as for supporting the soul of science and education in our country. Our conscientious work at a high level contributes not only to the development of science, but also to the outstanding authorities of Kazakhstan on the world stage.
We express special gratitude for awarding our worthy scientists, their achievements in the field of science and broad assistance to the progress and development of domestic science. Your efforts inspire us to new achievements and open up horizons for further growth for us.
I would like to note the achievements of the Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology. This year, 7 teachers won the title of "Best University Teacher-2024" and 1 professor who won the competition "Best Researcher-2024", Professor Ydyrys Alibek became the owner of state scholarships for young scientists, more than 20 scientists received the title of associate professor and professor, 8 teachers received the Bolashak scholarship within the framework of the "500-scientists" program. During the anniversary year, the faculty implemented 47 scientific grant projects, our scientists received a Mega Grant. In March 2024, the faculty held an international scientific forum "Modern Phenomena in the Development of Biological Sciences", which was attended by more than 200 participants from 104 universities and research institutes from 15 countries. Based on the results of the forum, conference proceedings were published, indexed on the Scopus database. In 2024, the faculty took second place in the university in terms of performance, for which the university management encouraged the most effective management with bonuses, which reflects the university management's caring attitude towards employees, inspires and motivates the faculty for further achievements.
We also express our gratitude for the attention to young scientists, doctors of science Kuanbay Aigerim and Malik Azhar for supporting their career growth, including providing housing. This is a prerequisite for creating favorable conditions for the work and development of talented specialists who will move science and the country forward in the future.
Thank you for your invaluable work, for caring for the future of science and education in Kazakhstan. We are confident that thanks to your support and the support of scientists, our country will maintain its success in the field of science and technology.
Today we are very pleased to award the orders to professors of the Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology: the Order of "Parasat" to Professor Sabyr Temirgalievich Nurtazin, the Order of "Kurmet" to Academicians of the NAS RK Sultan Tuleukhanovich Tuleukhanov and Professor Almira Melsovna Kustubayeva. These high awards still highly appreciate the work of scientists and teachers.
