As part of the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) At the United Nations, namely  SDG 15 "Preserving terrestrial ecosystems," 1st-year students of the Ecology Course took part in an interactive lesson on the impact of environmental factors on living organisms. The event was held in the format of a situational analysis: The participants analyzed real environmental problems, identified the key causes of changes in ecosystems and suggested ways to solve them. In the process, students immersed themselves in "environmental detectives" – tasks with unnecessary details that require analysis and selection of relevant information.
The seminar resulted in not only the identified causes of environmental changes, but also suggestions for improving the situation, as well as the development of environmental slogans and information notes aimed at raising public awareness.

Such events contribute to the formation of systemic thinking among future environmentalists, which is necessary to address current environmental challenges, and contribute to the achievement of the global SDGs.

This event was organized by senior lecturers of the UNESCO Chair t for Sustainable Development, K.K. Khamitova O.A. Zubova and B.H. Tussupova.
