I, Yergaliyev Isa Bibituly, study at the Department of Sinology. In the first semester of my third year, I participated in the academic mobility program and had the opportunity to go to China. A group of us from KazNU arrived in the city of Jining, Shandong Province, to attend Jining Polytechnic University. We became the first Kazakhstani students to study there.
Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed, and I would especially like to highlight our supervisor, Lü Laoshi (吕老师), who was always there to help us with anything and never left us in difficulty. Chinese culture had an impact on us from the very first day. Everything we had dreamed of since the first year came true, and we began to immerse ourselves in the Chinese atmosphere.
Our university organized various events for international students in collaboration with Chinese students. We had separate lessons in calligraphy, cooking national dishes, and musical competitions. The university also gave us the opportunity to visit nearby cities, explore ancient Chinese architecture, and visit museums of ancient relics.
Our Chinese language improved threefold, thanks to our teachers and the friends we made there. Overall, China left a deep mark on my heart, and I will try my best to return to this wonderful country as soon as possible.
