Today, career guidance plays an essential role in the development of education and science. It is especially important to help students choose their future profession, foster an interest in science, and develop environmental awareness. This is one of the key aspects of effective collaboration between universities and schools.
With this goal in mind, a professor from our department was specially invited to "LAKEVIEW SCHOOL ALMATY" to conduct a meeting with students as part of a career guidance initiative. This event was organized in line with the 14th United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) – "Life Below Water", aiming to increase students’ awareness of environmental issues and inspire them to pursue careers related to environmental protection.
During the meeting, the professor shared valuable insights on the conservation of marine and aquatic ecosystems, their importance, global environmental challenges, and potential solutions. The discussion covered the ecological state of the world’s oceans and freshwater resources, their significance for life on Earth, and the impact of human activities on the environment.
The professor’s presentation sparked great interest among the students. They actively asked questions related to ecology, climate change, water resource conservation, and sustainable environmental management, while also sharing their thoughts and ideas.
