The Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Sayasat Nurbek, together with 20 rectors of Kazakhstani universities, visited Al-Farabi Kazakh National University to acquaint themselves with its scientific potential and innovative infrastructure. During the tour, the university leaders were introduced to the achievements of the university, new laboratories, and scientific centers.

The rectors were welcomed by the rector of KazNU, Zhanseit Tuymebaev, who led the tour of the newly opened laboratories in honor of the university’s 90th anniversary.

The rectors also visited the Center for Engineering Competence in Robotics and Robotization, where industrial robots from the company "KUKA" were demonstrated. This center trains professionals for the industry and plays an active role in the automation and digitization of production processes.

The Dean of the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics at KazNU, Doszhan N.S., the Vice Dean for Research and Innovation, Sabirova R.F., and the doctoral student in Robotic Systems, Zhanabergen D.R., introduced the "Robotics and Mechatronics RoboMech" Scientific and Educational Center. Additionally, the guests visited the "Farabi Hub" Center for Innovative Products and High-Tech Projects, which focuses on startups and projects in the fields of artificial intelligence, creative industries, and other high-tech sectors. This center, like other KazNU projects, contributes to the development of innovation and strengthening of partnership ties.

This initiative of KazNU is closely linked to several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). First and foremost, it supports SDG 4: Quality Education, as the university actively develops scientific and educational centers and programs aimed at preparing highly qualified specialists. It also supports SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure, as KazNU’s innovative projects contribute to the development of high-tech infrastructure and process automation. In addition, the university also contributes to SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, fostering collaboration between Kazakhstani universities and research institutions, as well as between the scientific community and industry.
