On January 24, 2025, Abdullah Al Zubayer, a first-year student from the Faculty of Oriental Studies, Department of Middle East and South Asia, participated in the INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF TEACHERS OF KAZAKH LANGUAGE conference held at Nazarbayev University. Abdullah presented his research on "Edward Said's 'Orientalism' and 'Cultural Imperialism' Frameworks: Al-Maghrib Al-Aqsa’s Literary Struggle Against Colonial Legacy and Cultural Imperialism." His presentation explored how Edward Said’s theories of Orientalism and cultural imperialism apply to the literary resistance of Al-Maghrib Al-Aqsa (Morocco) against colonial influences. The conference provided an opportunity for scholars and students to engage in academic discussions on language, culture, and postcolonial studies. Abdullah’s participation highlights the university’s commitment to fostering intellectual exchange and global perspectives.
