The Role of Summits in International Relations

On November 22, 2024, a debate on “The Role of Summits in International Relations” was held among the 2nd-year students of the International Relations Faculty (Kazakh group). The aim of the event was to enhance students’ analytical and critical thinking skills in addressing global issues.
During the debate, the supporting side emphasized the significant role of summits in strengthening international cooperation, highlighting their importance in addressing global challenges through platforms such as the G20 and the UN General Assembly. The opposing side criticized summits for their inefficiency and formal nature, advocating instead for a stronger focus on regional cooperation.
The discussion was insightful and engaging. Students exchanged opinions and conducted an in-depth analysis of the advantages and disadvantages of summits in international relations. The event broadened the perspectives of future specialists and contributed to their professional development.
