“The Path of Abai” is an eternal treasure of national spirituality

On February 17, 2025, the 4th-year student of 6B01701 Kazakh Language and Literature major, Zhanarbek Kharakat, delivered a demo lesson for the 11th-grade schoolchildren at JOO High School Almaty during the teaching practice. The lesson was dedicated to Mukhtar Auezov’s epic novel “The Path of Abai.” It was organized within the framework of SDG 4: “Quality Education” and aimed at ensuring the accessibility of education and improving the quality of teaching through the effective use of modern technologies.
The lesson’s goal was to introduce the leaners to classical works of Kazakh literature, to analyze their structure, identify global issues, and to develop critical thinking skills. The lesson began with a warming-up activity: the “Kara Zhorga” dance using artificial intelligence. Then, the pupils were divided into groups. They worked with the special cards and completed test assignments on the Wordwall platform to consolidate their knowledge.
During the main part of the lesson they explored the plot structure of the novel using the “Film Strip” method, analyzed global issues through a mental map in the form of a Kazakh yurt, and identified their historical and modern significance. At the end of the lesson, the pupils shared their thoughts through the Padlet platform. This lesson became an important step in applying modern methods and technologies to develop schollchildren’s creative and analytical skills. Organized within the framework of SDG 4, this lesson helped them to deeply understand literature and perceive it in a new way.
