А round table discussion on the topic: "Scientific partnership between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan"

On February 18, 2025, within the framework of SDG 4 "Quality Education", the Department of Kazakh Literature and Theory of Literature, together with the M.O. Auezov Institute of Literature and Art, organized a round table discussion  on the topic: "Scientific partnership between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan".

The  Deputy General Director of M.O. Auezov Institute of Literature and Art, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor A.K. Kaliyeva,  the Head of the Department of Kazakh Literature and Theory of Literature, Doctor  of Philological Sciences, Full Professor,  Alua Berikbaykyzy Temirbolat, guests from Ozbekistan:  Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor of Urgench State Pedagogical Institute Gavkhar Atazhanovna Eshchanova, lecturers Gulnora Narmatovna Khalmatova, Gulnaz Kamilovna Avezova. They discussed the  ways to strengthen scientific cooperation between the two countries. PhD, Acting Associate professor of the Department of Kazakh Literature and Theory of Literature Gulnaz Rahimovna Dautova and senior lecturer Bakhytkozha Baygozhaevich Bayazitov actively participated in the discussion of this topic.

One of the main topics of the round table  discussion was the promotion of Mukhtar Auezov's work on a global level.  The scientists highly appreciated the works by  Mukhtar Omarkhanovich and noted the influence of his work on Uzbek literature, noting his skill in reproducing national values.The honored guests of the Urgench State Pedagogical Institute emphasized  that the work "Abai Zholy" is important not only for the Kazakh people, but also for all Central Asian countries, and the works by  M. Auezov are of a  great importance in presenting Abai Kunanbayev to the Uzbek people.

At the round table discussion, joint projects and festivals in the field of literature were proposed to organize  and to hold creative meetings among scientists. The round table discussion resulted in  proposing  to launch  several projects to strengthen future cooperation between scientific and cultural organizations of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. For example, proposals such as the development of literary ties between the two countries, the implementation of joint exhibitions and research projects were voiced. A special guided tour was conducted for the visitors.

The event was organized by the 1st-year PhD students of "8D02304 – Literary Studies" major Ayazhan Toibazar, Talgat Turdali, Alma Kenzhekozhayeva, Ekpin Yeldos. At the end of the round table discussion, the lecturers  of the Urgench State Pedagogical Institute expressed their gratitude to M.O. Auezov Institute of Literature and Art and the Department of Kazakh Literature and Theory of Literature and made a concluding speech and summed up the results of the event. This round table discussion  at M.O. Auezov Institute of Literature and Art was an important step towards building  scientific ties between the two countries. An open and fruitful discussion with the guests from Uzbekistan will further bring scientific cooperation between the two countries to a new level.
