"Guidelines for the Technical Formatting of Scientific Projects"

On February 24, 2025, a seminar for the fourth-year students was held at the Department of Turkology and Language Theory of the Faculty of Philology at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. The seminar was conducted by PhD in Philology, Z.M. Umatova.
The main topic of the seminar was "Guidelines for the Technical Formatting of Scientific Projects," where the key requirements and rules for formatting theses and dissertations were explained.
During the seminar, the students were provided with information on the following important aspects: fonts, spacing, and margins – strict adherence to academic standards is required; formatting of references and bibliography – the list of sources should not be arranged randomly but should follow the order of citations in the academic work; structure of the work – the title page, abstract, table of contents, definitions, introduction, main body, conclusion, and list of references should follow the established structure.
In addition, the students were informed about the most common mistakes made when writing a thesis and ways to avoid them. The proper formatting of academic work was emphasized to help save time and effort during the review process.
At the end of the seminar, the participants had the opportunity to ask questions and receive practical advice on formatting academic papers.
