Round table on the topic: "Sacred places of Kazakhstan are our national pride"

On February 24, 2025, at 17.00, lecturers of the Department of Foreign Languages of the Faculty of Philology, together with the  1st year students of the Faculty of Geography and Nature Management, on the platform ZOOM in the online format held a roundtable discussion on topic:  " Sacred places of Kazakhstan are our national pride" within the framework of Sustainable Development Goals 4 "Quality Education". 
The aim  of the round table was  to introduce the  students to the sacred places of Kazakhstan, to foster respect for history and cultural and historical monuments, to form and develop national values among students: Kazakh patriotism, civic responsibility, respect for culture, history and traditions, cooperation, openness, lifelong education. 
Sacred places are monuments of natural and cultural heritage that are especially revered among the population of the country, having values in the memory of the Kazakh people and serving as a symbol of national unity and rebirth. Natural landscape objects such as sacred mountains, caves, rivers, tracts, ancient settlements, places of unusual natural phenomena, mounds and burials, objects of religious worship, places of life of great people, saints, mausoleums, temples and other monuments of natural, cultural and historical heritage act as sacred monuments. 
The  lecturers and the  foreign students of S.A. Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University took part in the even5. The event was moderated by senior lecturer of the Department of Foreign Languages L.M. Aliyarova, who addressed the participants with a welcoming speech and provided brief information on key tasks of the round table. 
The students prepared and presented colorful presentations with photographs and interesting facts about the sacred places of Kazakhstan and Egypt. The first-year student of “Restaurant and Hotel Business” major  Sandugash Orynbayeva spoke about the mausoleum of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi in Turkestan, the Beket-Ata underground mosque in Mangystau, the Aisha-Bibi mausoleum, located in Zhambyl Region, the Tamgaly-Tas petroglyphs, etc. Yerasyl Yermekuly, the student of  "Life Safety and Environmental Protection" major  provided a  detailed information about the sacred sites of Eastern Kazakhstan, such as Katonkaragai, Lake Markakol, Rakhmanov springs, etc. Abouelenin Moustafa, the third-year student of the Faculty of General Medicine at KazNMU, made a presentation about the sacred sites of Egypt – the Nile River, the Giza Pyramid complex, Luxor Temple and Karnak Temple complex, etc. 
After watching the presentations, the students asked questions about the topics, expressed their thoughts and actively participated in the discussion. The students from Egypt also noted that they had learned a lot of new and interesting things about our country, and had the opportunity to touch its history and culture. Touching the sacred, it becomes clear how important it is for all of us to appreciate and preserve what enriches our consciousness of the Motherland. Every nation, every civilization has holy places that make up the spiritual heritage of the nation.
