Excursion to the "Shymbulak" Ski Resort

On February 20, 2025, master's students from Baku State University and Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, studying under the dual-degree master's program "7M04212 – Maritime and Energy Law," visited the "Shymbulak" ski resort in Almaty. The visit was organized within the framework of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) No. 3 "Good Health and Well-being" and aimed at familiarizing students with the history of the resort, its role in the development of winter sports, and its impact on the mountain region's ecology.

The event was organized by the Head of the Department of Customs, Financial and Environmental Law, Kuanaliyeva G.A., the coordinator of the dual-degree master's program "7M04212 – Maritime and Energy Law," Professor Aigarina G.T., and the advisor Rasheva G.K.

The participants included master's students from Baku State University: Amirli Aziza Ilham, Ibrahimzade Lala, Mammadova Sevda, Mirzayeva Sevinj, Tayarly Sinan, Huseynova Aynur, Huseynov Araz, as well as master's students from Al-Farabi Kazakh National University: Abilova Dinara, Nagmanov Nurlan.

During the excursion, the master's students explored the infrastructure of the "Shymbulak" resort, learned about modern technologies used to maintain ski slopes, and studied the environmental conservation measures implemented to manage the influx of tourists. Special attention was given to sustainable development issues, including the rational use of natural resources and the minimization of environmental impact.
