🗓 On February 19, 2025, as part of the large-scale campaign "80 Days – 80 Events" dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory, the Department of Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure, and Forensics at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University organized a screening and discussion of the legendary film "Schindler's List" (1993).

This iconic film by director Steven Spielberg, based on real events, tells the story of German industrialist Oskar Schindler, who saved more than a thousand Jews from the Holocaust during World War II. The film is one of the most powerful cinematic works depicting the tragedy of war and the inestimable value of human life.
The screening was followed by a discussion where students and faculty explored key topics:
🔹 Humanism and the power of one individual in wartime – how personal initiative can change the fate of hundreds of people.
🔹 Historical accuracy and artistic interpretation – how closely the film reflects real events and what emotions it evokes in the modern generation.
🔹 Parallels with the heroism of Kazakhstanis – examples of bravery and compassion demonstrated during the Great Patriotic War.
The screening of "Schindler's List" provided an opportunity to once again reflect on the tragic pages of history and serve as a reminder that remembering the war is not only a tribute to the heroes but also an important lesson in humanity for future generations.
