On February 26, 2025, the senior lecturer Bekturova E.K., together with PhD student Zh. Burkitbayeva held an educational event for the students of the 2nd-year students of "Foreign Philology (Western Languages)" major of the Department of Foreign Philology and Translation Studies within the framework of SDG 8 "Decent work and economic growth".
The main goal of the educational hour was to develop the students’ understanding of their rights in future professional life and an awareness of what is necessary to become a competitive specialist.
During the presentation, the students learned about statistics on people employed in unacceptable jobs around the world, as well as the reasons why job seekers choose unskilled work instead of decent work, and the problems that arise because of such a choice. In addition, they expressed their thoughts on what a decent job is and discussed what skills a specialist needs to get such a job. During the event, a special attention was paid to the ability of specialists to correctly assess themselves in professional life.
