Open Day Was a Fun and Successful Event

On February 26, 2025, the Faculty of Oriental Studies at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University held an Open Day. The event was attended by school students, teachers, and parents from various schools and colleges, who had the opportunity to learn more about the faculty's activities.

At the invitation of the Department of Chinese Studies, 45 students from Gymnasium No. 188 of the Nauryzbai District participated in the event, accompanied by teachers Nazgul Naritbekkyzy Karbozova, Zhanar Orynbasarkyzy Kalybaeva, and Aigul Seitkalikyzy Kuabaeva. Additionally, the Deputy Director for Academic Affairs of the International College of Service and Management, Ramina Makhmudkyzy Imankulova, led a group of 30 students.

Professors from the Department of Chinese Studies introduced guests to various aspects of Chinese culture. During the event, students tried their hand at Chinese calligraphy, observed the traditional tea ceremony, and participated in painting Peking opera masks. They also practiced writing Chinese characters, cutting intricate paper patterns, and decorating opera masks. These interactive activities sparked great interest in Eastern culture among the participants.

The tour of the faculty concluded with a concert program. Students of the Faculty of Oriental Studies performed traditional songs and dances from Eastern cultures, organized engaging games and quizzes, and distributed themed souvenirs. The event left the attending students and teachers with vivid impressions and a joyful atmosphere.
