The memory of Academician Umirbek Zholdasbekov was honored

At Al-Farabi KazNU, a solemn flower-laying ceremony took place at the monument dedicated to the renowned scholar, state and public figure, Academician Umirbek Zholdasbekov.

The event was attended by the relatives and contemporaries of Umirbek Aryslanovich, as well as professors, lecturers, and students of the university.

Yerkin Duisenov, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Al-Farabi KazNU, noted: "The distinguished figure of the country, Umirbek Aryslanovich, dedicated his life to the development of science and education. He served as the rector of the university from 1970 to 1986, founded the KazNU campus, and elevated the higher education institution to a new level. Under his leadership, new laboratories, departments, and research centers were established at the university. The scientific discoveries and research of the scholar gained widespread recognition not only in Kazakhstan but also in the global scientific community. Thanks to his persistent work, an entire generation of mechanical engineers was nurtured", - said the vice-rector.

The participants of the event honored the memory of the scholar and highlighted his significant contribution to the development of engineering science in Kazakhstan and the improvement of the higher education system. It was also emphasized that his students are now successfully working in various sectors of the country.

The flower-laying ceremony was organized to popularize the work of Umirbek Zholdasbekov and promote his scientific legacy for future generations.
