Extremism and terrorism as a threat to national security

On February 28, 2025, within the framework of SDG-16 «Peace, justice and effective institutions», 1st-year students met with an invited speaker, an employee of the Almaty Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan named after M.Yesbulatov, police Lieutenant Colonel Kurbanov R.D. on the topic «Extremism and terrorism as a threat to national security».
The organizer of the event is Associate Professor of the Department of Theory and History of State and Law, Constitutional and Administrative Law, Candidate of Law, Associate Professor Kultemirova L.T.
During the event, the expert highlighted topical issues related to the prevention of extremist and terrorist threats. Special attention was paid to the issues of recruitment, understanding of its methods and the risks that may arise from erroneous decisions.
The speaker explained in detail how important it is to be aware of the danger of extremist and terrorist manifestations and to prevent them.
The topic aroused great interest among the students, who shared their thoughts. Such events are an important step in raising awareness among young people about serious threats to national security and the need for personal responsibility for maintaining public order and security.
