Representatives of the Faculty of International Relations participated in the international scientific and practical conference dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the United Nations "Cooperation for Peace and Development: on the 33rd anniversary of Kazakhstan's accession to the UN".

The conference was organized by the Representative Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Almaty and the Permanent Mission of the United Nations in Kazakhstan ("UN Plaza").

Ambassador-at-Large, Head of the Representative Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Almaty Zhanibek Abdrashov, former Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, first Permanent Representative of Kazakhstan to the United Nations Akmaral Arystanbekova and representative of the UN Department of Global Communications in Kazakhstan Vlastimil Samek gave a speech at the event. The Consuls General of China, France, and Russia also delivered a speech.

The main speakers from the Faculty of International Relations were the Director of the Institute of Security and Cooperation at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Professor Kuralai Irtysovna Baizakova and Associate Professor Leila F. Delovarova, Director of the Academic regional resource center for information about the United Nations. The coordinator of the Center, Sakenova Ayazhan, spoke on behalf of the student activists, as well as a student from Bangladesh, Ayesha Siddika.

During the conference, the participants noted the role of the United Nations in ensuring international peace and security, promoting human rights, sustainable development, as well as the role of youth in these processes.

The activists of the UN Information Center also showed a video about activities in the field of promoting the 17 Sustainable Development Goals, which was highly appreciated by the participants.
