The Role of Computational Linguistics in Modern Research Discussed at the Department of Chinese Studies

On March 4, a scientific seminar on "Computational Linguistics" was held at the Department of Chinese Studies, Faculty of Oriental Studies, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. The seminar was conducted by first-year doctoral student Ulzhan Zhubaniyazova.
The event was attended by the Head of the Department, PhD, Associate Professor E.A. Kerimbayev, senior lecturers A.A. Arzykulyov, A.S. Koybakova, as well as master's and doctoral students of the Faculty of Oriental Studies.
During the seminar, Ulzhan Zhubaniyazova presented the results of her research work in a multimedia presentation format. She focused particularly on the interconnection between computational linguistics and information technologies in China, emphasizing that their integration contributes to the development of various scientific and applied fields.
The doctoral student highlighted the significance of the knowledge acquired in the course "Eastern Language for Cognitive and Communicative Purposes," led by PhD, Associate Professor E.A. Kerimbayev, and its application in the study of computational linguistics. Seminar participants discussed the prospects of this discipline in the context of rapid technological advancements in China and worldwide.
At the end of the meeting, participants shared their opinions and asked questions. The event concluded with the acknowledgment that the seminar was held at a high level and made a valuable contribution to the development of scientific dialogue among researchers.
