SDG – 1-2: The Faculty of Geography and Environmental Management and the Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology held a charity fair with the «Komek» public foundation

The Faculty of Geography and Environmental Management and the Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, together with the «Komek» public foundation, held a charity fair on February 4.

The main goal of this good event is to provide financial and food assistance to 100 low-income families in our city. In addition, the fair aims to increase the social responsibility of students and promote kindness and compassion in society. Also, such events will help students develop volunteering and organizational skills and become an initiative to provide permanent support to families in need.

At the fair, volunteers put up for sale various dishes and handicrafts prepared by them. During the event, 121,000 tenge was collected, and these funds will be fully directed to providing food to needy families. Participants noted the importance of this initiative and expressed their intention to organize such events more often in the future.
