Cultural Integration Through Art: International Students of KazNU in the World of Kazakh Theatre

On March 5, 2025, senior lecturers of the Department of Turkology and Language Theory at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, K. Dushayeva and F. Abdullayeva and the first-year PhD student A. Yerlan went to the theatre to see Black Sheepskin Coat play by G. Khugaev's for the first-year Turkmen students within the framework of SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities. The event aimed at developing the students’ deeper understanding of Kazakh culture and art.
Today, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University hosts a large number of international students. Such cultural events help them adapt to a new environment, gain a deeper appreciation of Kazakh culture and art, and strengthen friendly relations. The theater visit allowed both the lecturers and the students to relax spiritually and find creative inspiration.
This cultural initiative not only contributes to students' personal and cultural development but also fosters cooperation and appreciation of shared values. For every international student studying at the university, becoming acquainted with Kazakh culture is an essential part of the adaptation process. Efforts in this direction will continue in the future.
Organizers: Lecturers of the Department of Turkology and Language Theory, K. Dushayeva and F. Abdullayeva.
