- On March 06, 2025, the Faculty of Oriental Studies hosted an online information and explanatory meeting for unprotected doctoral students of different graduation years. The event was attended by the Head of the Department of Training and Certification of Research personnel of the University, PhD - Kuanova Laura Aibolovna, Chairman of the Dissertation Council of the Faculty of Oriental Studies, Doctor of Philology, Professor Nadirov Gulnar Ermuratovna and the faculty leadership, as well as deputy heads of departments. The meeting was opened by the Deputy Dean for Research and Innovation and International Relations, PhD S.B.Alipova. She noted the importance of postgraduate training for the development of Russian science, as well as for the country as a whole, and introduced doctoral students to the members of the new Dissertation Council of the Faculty of Oriental Studies. During the meeting, the head of the DTCRP, PhD L.A.Kuanova, explained to the doctoral students: about the general rules for awarding degrees, new requirements for doctoral dissertations, approval/re-approval of domestic and foreign scientific consultants, publication of articles in scientific publications and international peer-reviewed scientific journals (SCOPUS, WOS) included in the approved list of scientific publications and etc. Also in her speech, the Chairman of the Dissertation Council, Doctor of Philology, Professor G.E.Nadirova noted that doctoral students should always be in close relationship with their scientific advisers and the graduating department in research activities, in order to carry out their research work in a high-quality manner. She additionally informed that for the defense, doctoral students are required to perform all types of work requested by the dissertation council in a timely and high-quality manner and submit all necessary materials to the Scientific Secretary. At the end of the meeting, the doctoral students asked their questions to all the speakers and received valuable answers. The meeting was held at a high level, providing the doctoral students with important information for further work in preparation for the defense of their doctoral dissertations.
