11 march, 2025

On March 11, 2025, at 11:00, in the assembly hall of  Dormitory No. 17 of the Faculty of Philology,  the senior lecturer of the Department of Foreign Philology and Translation Studies, Meruert  Ongarbaeva, held an  event with the  first-year students majoring in  Foreign Philology (Western Languages). The event  was dedicated to the implementation of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 8: "Decent Work and Economic Growth."

Together with the lecturer,  the students discussed  the key aspects related to productive employment, fair working conditions, and sustainable economic growth.  A main focus was made on  labor rights protection, the prevention of worker exploitation, equal opportunities in the labor market, and the importance of professional development.

During the event, a video was shown illustrating the key aspects of the topic. The SDG 8 objectives and the impact of decent work on economic growth and social well-being were clearly demonstrated, sparking active discussion among the  students.  The senior lecturer Meruert  Ongarbaeva explained what steps students could take to contribute to this goal achievement  and made an accent on   volunteer work significance.
