On 03/06/2025, at the Higher School of Economics and Business, a group of 3rd-year economics students of the Department of Economics and advisor G. T. Esengeldieva held an open curatorial hour “Save Mother Nature” in compliance with the 6 goals of the SDGs.
The purpose of the event is to present 6 goals out of 17 interrelated sets of Sustainable Development Goals developed by the UN General Assembly. The open curatorial hour “Save Mother Nature” was held in accordance with the goals of SDG 2 – End Hunger, SDG 6 – Clean Water and Sanitation, SDG 12 – Responsible Consumption and Production, SDG 13 – Climate Action, SDG 14 – Life Underwater, SDG 15 – Protect Terrestrial Ecosystems.
During the event, students presented their ideas on how they can contribute to nature conservation. The leaders of each group were instructed to make suggestions on the topic of nature conservation. The group took an active part and exchanged views. At the end of the lesson, the poem "I believe in youth" by the activist of the Alash movement, poet Magzhan Zhumabayev, was read.
At the end of the event, the benefits and harms of "plastic bottles and plastic bags" were discussed, which is one of the most important topics of today, since nature is our future and our legacy to future generations. We must protect nature!!
