Bauyrzhankyzy Zarina, a third-year student at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, shared her experience of studying in China as part of the academic mobility program.
Zarina is studying at the Faculty of Oriental Studies and traveled to Jining, China, for an intensive Chinese language program. In addition to language learning, students were introduced to Chinese culture: they practiced traditional calligraphy, tasted national cuisine, and even taught English to Chinese children.
“The Chinese people are very kind and always ready to help. If you ask for assistance, they sincerely support you. Now, I have many Chinese friends who continue to help me improve my language skills,” said Zarina.
Although she feels comfortable in China, Zarina admits that she misses Kazakhstan. However, she is certain that this experience will stay with her forever, and she cherishes the memories she has made.
The academic mobility program provides KazNU students with valuable opportunities for studying abroad, cultural exchange, and professional growth.
