Participation of Faculty Members of the Mechanics and Mathematics Department in Horizon Europe Training

On March 13-14, 2025, an online training organized by the Department of Science and Innovation of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University was held, focusing on preparing successful applications for the Horizon Europe program. The training aimed to familiarize participants with new competition topics, the main elements of writing proposals, and the procedures for their preparation.
The event was conducted online via the MS Teams platform, ensuring convenience for all participants regardless of their location.
Roza Sabirova, Vice Dean on Scientific-Innovation Works and International Affairs at the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics, along with the faculty members, actively participated in the training. During the session, participants thoroughly studied the structure of project proposals, key aspects of their content, and evaluation criteria, which will significantly increase their chances of successful participation in Horizon Europe competitions.
The training was conducted within the framework of the Horizon Europe (HEU) program. The speakers included:
Dina Shokataeva, PhD, Deputy Director of the Institute of Biology and Biotechnology Problems, Senior Lecturer of the Biotechnology Department, who presented an overview of Horizon Europe.
Shamshagul Mashtaeva, PhD in Geography, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology, who gave an overview of the Horizon Europe competitions for 2025 and introduced the work program.
The training also contributed to achieving SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure, supporting innovations and the development of scientific research. Additionally, the training supported SDG 4: Quality Education, promoting the improvement of educational programs and the preparation of highly qualified specialists for international scientific projects.
