Kazakhstan-Korea Educational Cooperation: New Opportunities for Graduate Students

On June 21, 2024, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Department of Education of Gyeonggi Province, Republic of Korea. This memorandum represents a significant step toward strengthening cooperation and exchanging experiences in the field of education between the two countries.
As part of this agreement, a program for the employment of teaching assistants in schools in Gyeonggi Province was launched on August 1, 2024. Following the selection process conducted across Kazakhstan, four graduate students were chosen, including Zhaniya Askarovna Kozhakhmetova, a second-year master's student in the “7M03115 – Regional Studies (Eastern Countries)” program at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. She is currently working as a teaching assistant at one of the schools in Gyeonggi Province.
Additionally, another Kazakhstani student, Bapnur Rashitkyzy Subebek, a first-year master's student in the “7M02217 – Oriental Studies” program, successfully passed the selection process. She has been assigned to work as a teaching assistant in a Korean school from March 17, 2025, to February 28, 2026.
This program provides Kazakhstani graduate students and scholars with a unique opportunity to gain international experience, study the specifics of the Korean education system, and engage in cultural exchange. Furthermore, it contributes to the development of their professional skills and enhances their qualifications as future specialists.
Recognizing the importance of bilateral cooperation in education, we wish our graduate students success and new achievements!
